CLOSING THE GAP BETWEEN INNOVATION AND IMPACT TO FIGHT GLOBAL POVERTY
How do you help a 70-year-old humanitarian organization emphasize its current relevance and rally its global community?
Launch a totally new concept in humanitarian aid–Scale X Design–a competitive program designed to close the gap between innovation and impact in fighting poverty and social injustice. Then showcase the journey to identify the winners.
The first event, held in Atlanta, identified five finalists from among 15 semifinalists. The Final Five competition took place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City, where three winners each received a $150,000 grant to accelerate the impact of vital programs in their home countries and beyond.
Global development professionals; individual, corporate and foundation donors; academics; policy experts; government officials; and social entrepreneurs
After the presenters were narrowed down in Atlanta, AJ structured and staged the Final Five competition in New York City. This included theming, branding, video intros of the finalists, structuring presentations, prepping for Q&A sessions with the judges, and even live-streaming the pitch night on CARE’s Facebook page.
The main stage was surrounded with rich storytelling, including a virtual reality booth celebrating the organization’s signature worldwide microfinance program and an interactive commitment wall raising awareness of, and commitment to, fighting global poverty and social injustice.
