ELLEN MILLER GILCREST

VP, SENIOR CREATIVE DIRECTOR

I put purpose into practice by…

Creating stories and experiences rooted in strategy, sprinkled with joy.

Expertise: Creative Strategy and Ideation, Storytelling, Engagement, Writing, Team Building and Culture, Social Impact, Theme Parties

Ellen serves as a creative and strategic partner to clients and colleagues at August Jackson. With a lifelong passion for creating memorable and joyful experiences, Ellen loves asking, “What if we…?” and working alongside people who — as they say here at AJ — instinctively raise the bar.

In her previous role at a social impact communications agency, Ellen focused on two distinct worlds. One involved leading creative strategy for clients including The Women’s Philanthropy Institute, Salesforce, NARAL, Heifer International, New Profit, and climate startup, Persefoni. She worked on topics like reimagining gender, alternative approaches to education, corporate social impact, DE&I, philanthropy, reproductive freedom, and sustainability. The other involved overseeing the agency culture and employee experience, which was tons of fun and incredibly rewarding. She’s thrilled to blend these worlds together in her work at AJ!

Outside of work, Ellen spends time planning elaborate events and competitions for her friends, making yearbooks and videos, and dreaming that her screenplay Bubby will become a movie. Other sources of joy and inspiration include: international travel, karaoke rooms, cooking, playing games, Wrigley Field, her big & wonderful family, and seeing the world through her son Jack’s eyes.

When asked why she loves working at AJ, Ellen said, “The people and the work! There’s good energy here and I’m excited to be part of the magic.”
